The  Staff Selection Commission has released the revised SSC CGL 2020 Tier I Exam date. As per the latest information, Tier I of SSC Combined Graduate Level Exam 2020 is now scheduled to be conducted from 13th August 2021 onwards. The SSC on May 7th 2021 has announced that the Tier I exam of SSC CGL 2020 which was scheduled from May 29th to June 7th 2020 is being postponed due to a surge in Covid-19 cases across the country. The examination is deferred to an undisclosed date. Candidates are required to keep track of the official site for the latest updates.

  • Staff Selection Commission has declared SSC CGL Tier III 2019 result. SSC CGL 2019

As per the official notification, SSC CGL 2019 online exam Tier-I was scheduled from March 3rd to 9th, 2020 while the SSC CGL Tier-II & Tier-III exam is scheduled to be conducted from June 22nd-25th, 2020.

SSC CGL Exam Notification

The official website of SSC releases the CGL exam notification every year. The notification for SSC CGL 2021 exam is not yet released by the commission.

The Official Notification of SSC CGL exam 2020 released on December 29th, 2020 to conduct the examination in 2021. There has been a postponement of few exams as released on the SSC official website (https://ssc.nic.in/). Candidates should start their preparation very early this year as the Exam dates might vary.

With the approval of the National Recruitment Agency by the Union Cabinet, a Combined Eligibility Test (CET) shall be conducted for candidates appearing for SSC, RRB and IBPS exams. SSC CGL Exam Eligibility

Candidates who aspire to write the SSC CGL 2021 Exam must understand the eligibility criteria properly. There are 4 criteria for the exam – 3 are for everyone, 1 is only for certain posts.

The eligibility criteria for the SSC CGL Exam is as follows:

  1. Citizenship– Must be a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan
  2. SSC CGL Age Limit- Must be between the age group of 18 years and 32 years
  3. Qualification- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University

SSC CGL Exam Pattern

The Staff Selection Commission conducts the CGL Exam in 4 different stages called Tiers. The last Tier Exam is only for certain posts and for candidates who have qualified certain papers.

SSC CGL Selection Process – Important Pointers

  1. Aspirants of the SSC CGL 2021 exam will be assigned roll numbers and admit cards to appear for the Tier I exam.
  2. Candidates will be shortlisted category-wise to appear for Tier II and Tier III, based on the marks scored in SSC CGL 2021 Tier I.
  3. All candidates will have to appear for Paper I and Paper II in Tier-II exam. However, only specific candidates will have to appear for Paper III and Paper IV of the Tier II exam in SSC CGL 2021 exam.
  4. Separate cutoff will be fixed for Paper I, Paper-II, Paper III and Paper IV of Tier II exam.
  5. In SSC CGL 2021 exam, there will be minimum qualifying marks in each Tier and all the papers. The minimum qualifying marks in SSC CGL Tier I, Tier II(each paper), Tier III are as follows:
  • Unreserved Categories – 30 %
  • EWS/OBC Categories – 25%
  • Other Categories – 20%

SSC CGL Syllabus

The SSC CGL syllabus covers various topics related to the 10th and 12th grade. The syllabus for the CGL Exam varies with respect to the Tiers.

SSC CGL Apply Online

As per the notification released on December 2020, the SSC CGL Registration window for the CGL 2020 Exam opened from 29th December’ 20 and will be closed on 31st January 2021.

Candidates were required to fill the application form on the SSC official website.

The steps for the SSC CGL 2021 and 2020 Registration is as follows:

Step 1- Go to the official website of SSC

Step 2- Register using your mobile number, email id

Step 3- Login using your Registration ID that will be generated once you initiate your SSC CGL registration using your mail id, phone number

SSC CGL Admit Card

SSC CGL Exam Admit Cards/ Admission Certificates (ACs) will be uploaded on the website of the concerned Regional/ Sub-Regional Office of the Commission. The facility for the download of Admit Cards will be available at least one week before the examination on the website of concerned Regional/ Sub Regional Office.

Candidates are advised to visit the website of the concerned Regional Office and SSC HQ regularly for updates and information about the examination.

The commission will release the SSC CGL 2021 Tier-I Admit Card through an official notification.

The Admit card for SSC CGL Exam Tier I 2020 was expected to release 15 days before the exam date i.e. May 29th 2021 but now it is postponed to undisclosed date.

Steps to download SSC CGL Admit Card:

  1. Visit the SSC CGL official website

  3. Enter the registration number and password to log in.
  4. Admit card will be displayed on the screen.
  5. Download it and take the printout for further use.

SSC CGL Exam Centres

Candidates who aspire for the CGL exam should always check this important detail properly. A candidate must indicate the Centre(s) in the online Application Form in which he/ she desires to take the examination.

The exam centres allotted to candidates for the CGL exam are notified with the release of the Admit card.

SSC CGL Vacancy

The commission will announce the vacancy for SSC CGL 2021 along with the release of the exam notification.

The vacancies for SSC CGL 2020 exam are notified with the notification. The tentative vacancies for the CGL 2020 examination are 7035. Ans. Yes, there is a negative marking scheme in the SSC CGL exam. Candidates will lose 0.50 marks for wrong attempts in CGL Tier-I, Tier III and Tier IV. For the SSC CGL Tier-II exam they will be penalized with 0.25 marks for wrong attempts.

Ans. The highest post that a candidate can get in SSC through CGL examination is Assistant Accounts Officer or Assistant Audit Officer. SSC CGL AAO is a Group “B” Gazetted (Non-Ministerial) post offering the grade pay of 4800. A candidate who qualifies AAO post gets to work in the Indian Audit & Accounts Department under CAG.
