- Due to technical issues, there is a change in the closing date of the online application form. Now the final closing date of application is 30th September 2021, with No Additional Fees.
- Leh (Ladakh) has been added as a new GATE 2022 examination city.
- In 2022, the authority has also added two new papers for GATE exams 2022. Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture, Geomatics Engineering are the two new papers, thus making it 29 subjects for the GATE Exam.

- Change has been made to the GATE 2022 AR Exam pattern.
- GATE 2022 Exams will not be conducted from International Centres due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation.

GATE 2022 Counselling:
IIT Kharagpur, the exam conducting authority, will not be in charge of organizing the counselling process for GATE 2022. GATE COAP and the CCMT portals will have to be used for counselling purposes. Candidates aspiring for admissions to IIT will have to register via COAP, while for NIT admissions, candidates can register via CCMT.
GATE 2022 COAP:
GATE COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal) was activated for admissions to IITs only. GATE 2022 qualified candidates aspiring to get IIT admissions to M. Tech have to apply through the GATE COAP 2022 portal.
